Palisades Episcopal School Offers Equestrian Program

Receives Distinction From The United States Hunter Jumper Association

(October 10, 2017) The Palisades Episcopal School (PES) is proud to announce that its Equestrian Program has been added to the United States Hunter Jumper Association’s (USHJA) Recognized Riding Academy list.

The USHJA’s Recognized Riding Academy program “promotes a safe, beginner-rider introduction for individuals seeking entry into the hunter/jumper disciplines. These academies demonstrate the value of equine education, promote safety of horse and rider, and offer hunter/jumper riding lessons taught by qualified instructors.” Programs approved for the Recognized Riding Academy list must demonstrate competency in operations and safety, as well as meet facility requirements.

PES is an eleven year old, accredited, Christ-centered, independent day school serving students from North and South Carolina in Junior Kindergarten – 8th grade. PES Equestrian is an optional program in which PES students in grades 3-8 may elect to participate. Classes meet during the school day at the Palisades Equestrian Center, located in the Palisades neighborhood in southwest Mecklenburg County. The PES Equestrian program is unique to PES, not found at any other public or private school in the greater Charlotte area. Instruction is available for students at all levels in English hunter-jumper style riding.
