Door Prizes Requested for Educator Appreciation Luncheon at Olympic

Olympic(June 1, 2016) On June 10, the last day of school, the Arrowood Business Association will thank educators at Olympic with its annual Educator Appreciation Luncheon as a send-off before teachers leave for summer break. A highlight each year is the awarding of "teacher door prizes" donated by community supporters for the event.

Can you donate something and put a smile on a teacher's face? Here are some great door prize ideas from the past:

  • Gift Cards
  • Sporting Event Tickets
  • Entertainment & Cultural Event Tickets
  • Company Promotional Items
  • Massage & Service Gift Cards
  • Weekend Trips
Our educators deserve it -- here are some quick highlights from Olympic's 2015-2016 school year:
  • NC Business Council to feature Olympic at its Innovation in Education Showcase during its Annual Meeting with Gov. McCrory
  • Students build their 8th Habitat for Humanity House
  • Students raise funds and deliver Christmas gifts to 1,000 needy children
  • Career Academy of Finance honored by National Academy Foundation
  • Career Academy of Engineering honored by National Academy Foundation
  • Students win the Microsoft "Spark Tank" Entrepreneurism Competition
  • FIRST Robotics team wins regional competition and ranked 5th in NC
  • 2 student teams reach Finals of the Lenovo Mobile App Development Competition
  • $300,000 Bosch Rexroth Advanced Technology & Manufacturing Center opens and pilots NC Advanced Manufacturing curriculum
  • "Career Ready" students intentionally being developed in areas of Business, Finance, IT, Health Care, Hospitality & Tourism, Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Energy
  • Charlotte Chamber's Education and the Workforce Committee tours school and queries a panel of educators and business partners about their nationally recognized best practices
  • CMS Superintendent Ann Clark publicly describes Olympic as the "beacon for CMS, the state, and the nation."

Thanks, again, to the Arrowood Business Association for leading this effort each year to make sure that educators know they matter and are appreciated by the community they serve
