STEELE CREEK NEWS

Steele Creek Residents Association Annual Meeting is February 28

(January 31, 2013) The 2013 meeting of the Steele Creek Residents Association will be on Thursday evening, February 28 in the cafeteria at Winget Park Elementary School (12235 Winget Road).

There will be a pre-meeting from 6:30 to 7:00 when attendees can meet, mingle, and
learn about non-profit groups and local government agencies that have set up displays with information about their services and programs.

Beginning at 7:00 speakers will address several issues important to Steele Creek
residents.

The developers of the Charlotte Premium Outlet Mall on Steele Creek Road at I-485 will
talk about plans for the new 90-store mall plus the adjacent restaurants, hotel, and other development that is expected to open in 2014. Developers also will provide updates on the RiverGate expansion and the construction of the new Berewick Town Center.

Winget Park Elementary School is located on Winget Road, which is off Sledge Road, which runs between Steele Creek Road (NC Highway 160) and Shopton Road West.

Please drive past the school bus parking lot on Winget Road and turn right into the entrance of Winget District Park. Take the first right in the park at the stop sign and continue to the main school parking lot. Enter the school through the main school entrance and continue straight back to the cafeteria. See MAPS.

Transportation planners with the Mecklenburg-Union Metropolitan Planning Organization and the North Carolina Department of Transportation will address issues regarding
congestion on Highway 160 and the process for improving the priority of its widening
among future highway projects. The need for widening Highway 160 is probably the most pressing public works issue in Steele Creek. Come learn how you might make a difference.

There will be more meeting and mingling after 8:00.

2012 Annual Meeting   Residents review the Steele Creek Area Plan at the 2012 meeting.
