Safety Fair is October 23 at CMPD Police Academy (October 9, 2007) The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is holding Safety Fairs at sites across the county on October 23 in recognition of Crime Prevention Month. The fair for the Southwest Service Area (Wendover and Steele Creek Divisions) will be at the CMPD Police Academy at the corner of Shopton Road and Beam Road from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Local officers encourage area residents and workers to take an active role in making their community safe by learning how they and their neighbors can partner with the police department to prevent crime.
