(October 4, 2007) Mecklenburg County voters can vote early at the Steele Creek Library and other libraries across the county beginning October 22. Early voting at the Board of Elections office (741 Kenilworth Avenue) begins October 18.

The schedule at Steele Creek Library is as follows:

Oct. 22 - 26 (Weekdays) 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Oct. 27 (Saturday) 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Oct. 29 - Nov. 2 (Weekdays) 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Nov. 3 (Saturday) 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Deadline)

County residents who are not registered to vote may both register and vote during the early voting period. This Same-Day Registration is available during the early voting period only, not on election day.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 6. Registered voters may vote at their regular registered precinct on that day.

Offices on the ballot are Charlotte Mayor and City Council (at-large and districts) and the at-large seats on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education. Areas of Steele Creek that are within the Charlotte City limits are within City Council District 3.

Also on the ballot are three bond issues and a referendum on the transit sales tax.
